Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Our commitment to your privacy

People Initiative Foundation is committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about what data we collect and why. We will never sell your data. We collect only what we need, keep it secure, and give you control over how it is used.

01.Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, and any message content when you complete our contact form, sign up for newsletters, or make a donation.

We also automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited. This data is collected through cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.

We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, or financial account details) unless explicitly required for a specific programme and only with your express consent.

02.How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your enquiries, process donations, send programme updates and newsletters (where you have opted in), and improve our website and services.

We may use your contact details to inform you about events, campaigns, or programmes that may be relevant to you. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.

We use anonymised analytics data to understand how visitors use our Site, which helps us improve navigation, content, and user experience. This data is never linked to identifiable individuals.

03.Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your data with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you — provided they agree to keep this information confidential.

We may disclose your information when required by law, to enforce our site policies, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of People Initiative Foundation, our partners, or others.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

04.Data Security

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Data transmitted to and from the Site is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols.

Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel who need it to perform their job functions. We regularly review our data collection, storage, and processing practices to guard against unauthorised access.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

05.Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to access personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, object to processing, and request restriction of processing.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@peopleinitiative.org. We will respond to your request within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.
