Building a Social Enterprise in Nairobi: Aisha's Story

Through YouthBuild Accelerator, Aisha Mwangi launched a sustainable packaging startup that now employs 18 people in her community.

At People Initiative Foundation, we believe every story of change begins with a person daring to believe that a better life is possible. Through the support of our donors, partners, and dedicated team, we are able to walk alongside individuals like PIF Editorial Team and thousands more.

The Journey

It starts with an application — a form filled with hope, a vision, a desire to learn. But it becomes so much more. Participants in our programmes don't just receive training; they join a community of changemakers who uplift, challenge, and inspire each other.

Our facilitators bring world-class expertise and genuine care. They see not just the learner in front of them, but the leader that person is becoming.

The Impact

The numbers tell one story — and they are powerful. But the real impact lives in the changed relationships, the new possibilities, the businesses built, the communities transformed.

Every graduate of our programmes carries more than a certificate. They carry confidence, connections, and a commitment to giving back.

Looking Ahead

We are just getting started. With the support of our partners and donors, People Initiative Foundation continues to scale our programmes, deepen our impact, and expand into new communities across Africa and the world.
